hey fam! i told you i was going to write about this so here it is. first before i start i want to set the stage here. i am very non technical. one of my weaknesses is i give up on a lot of ai stuff because i dont understand it. i think personally i am the prime profile for agents being adopted to ‘normies’ you could say. i always say ‘if i can figure it out anyone can figure it out’. that being said, ive tried all the texting agents such as ollie, caddy, pally, and there are more than i can remember right now. so when i saw grok drop their ‘bot’ product i was immediately intrigued. it seemed simple and quite honestly what ive been missing. i’m about a week into it and at this point i am completely floored. here is a quick run down of what i’ve spun up now to give you ideas.
i have been building a team of grok bots. not one chatbot i bounce ideas off (like the texting agents i mentioned above). actual agents with jobs. a chief of staff. a social media coordinator. a youtube specialist. a substack bot. they talk to each other. i talk to them when i need to.
what that has looked like so far, for real:
first off, i produce a lot of content mainly around my live stream guidance counselor 2.0. there is so much content for people on their job search but i just don’t have the bandwidth to take all of it and write it and this is the first massive case study for grok bot. i have used it to get this newsletter habit moving again. last recap i let it get me 80% of the way there and i finished it in my voice. that is the whole point. it drafts. i edit. if the copy is empty, it does not go out. i point it to my streams on my youtube, it goes in (on it’s own) then downloads the transcript. i then tell it how i write, show it my substack formats and get it to create a substack. the last substack i just put out it wrote 90% of it. it uploaded it to the drafts and i read it once over made like 5 edits and pressed send. unreal.
the main bot i would say create is a cheif of staff. i made it scan through all my granola notes, slack messages, to get context about me then i told it to start making suggestions on what i could do better and it did. it also told me how i should spin up these bots to help at all. of course i created too many and i asked it to help consolidate them and it did.
it is also helping me get all my short form content and pictures out on the internet more. i have so much content i never get around sharing because there is just a massive amount of it so i told grok bot to start working through my g drive. take pictures i haven’t posted (i told it to scan my buffer account to cross reference) and always upload 4 photos from a post event. i also told it the style of short form videos i create and to upload one of each at set times. i told it to not write the copy just upload the content and it did! again, unreal.
i had an idea to spin up a bot to check my youtube because my youtube wasn’t getting a lot of view and low and behold youtube metadata was a mess. i was categorized under ‘cars’ idk why lol. hashtags in titles, the wrong stuff in the wrong field. the youtube specialist cleans that in the background and reports to the social media coordinator i spun up that manages my uploading.
i also spun up a personal assistant for my personal life because there are a lot of appointments with having 3 kids, a dog, horses, and a wife so i gave it all my info about me and even showed it how to book certain appointments. one of the most challanging personal apts that i have is my haircut. the barber i use uses a very gate dual auth sign on and no chat bot has been able to figure it out and low and behold i recorded how to do it and now whenever i need a haircut it can now get through the dual auth and book it for me. no questions asked.
if you have been curious what it looks like to actually use agents at work, not just prompt a chatbot, this is the version i am trying. a team. jobs. approval gates. me still in the loop on anything that goes public.
